How long do CPAPs last?
Hi, I've had my CPAP for a little over a year now, and I've noticed that it doesn't seem to have quite the power is used to--as in, it doesn't seem to blow as hard as it originally did. Do the machines get old? How often do you need to get a new CPAP?

If you suspect your CPAP isn't producing as much pressure take it in to your local DME supplier and have them check it w/a manometer for pressure output.
Insurances usually assume a 5 year life-span for today's CPAPs, but in the past some have been known to last 10 and 12 years and still putting out pressure right on the money.

I also have noticed that "your" pressure seems less as time passes because you tend to grow accustom to it.
For peace of mind, follow Judy's advise and have the unit checked and calibrated by a reputable DME service.

If there is a filter in your machine you must remember to replace this about every month.

I can only speak on ResMed. I think you have been given a handful along with your machine.
