Hi, my name is Karla and I find this website searching for Sleep Apnea as all of us. I have never heard of this before until I learn that may affect obesity.  I wake up restless everyday but I also go to bed late so I am working on go to bed by 10pm now. I have caught myself snoring and kind of chocking when I sleep on my back. I must roll while I sleep because I don’t like to sleep on my back anyway. I am on the process of losing weight so I will like to find out if this Sleep Apnea it is part of my weight problems. Thanks.

If you snore and also choke, it suggests that you might benefit by being evaluated for sleep apnea. Another clue: the fact that you don't like sleeping on your back. Your throat airway collapses more readily if you're on your back. Like a lot of us, you figured out that the best way to manage to sleep is to move to your side.

If you begin sleeping better, you will feel better and, as a result, manage many more aspects of your life much better. For example, have you considered the possibility that you eat too much as a way of making yourself feel better?  In my case, I noticed that I didn't have the energy to do -- or not do -- things that I should do -- or not do -- when I was exhausted from my OSA.

I encourage you to get a sleep apnea evaluation via an overnight study. At least rule out -- or rule in -- sleep apnea.

Thanks for your reply SlliStar :)
