WHEN I GET OFF MY MACHINE (WHICH I HAVE OXYGEN CONNECTED TO IT ALSO) IN THE MORNINGS , I FEEL REAL BAD. I FEEL LIKE MY RIB CAGE AREA IS ALL BLOWN OUT (EVEN IN MY BACK) AND I AM IN BLOATY PAIN FOR SEVERAL HOURS. THEN THE BLOATY FEELING GOES AWAY AND I AM IN PAIN IN MY LUNG AREA (FRONT TO BACK) THE REST OF THE DAY.ANYONE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM ????

A lot of times sleep apnea is associated with gastroesophogeal (sp?) reflux, or what some people think of simply as bad heartburn or reflux. It's when, usually at night, stomach contents can come up into your throat, or even your mouth. You can imagine this could cause pain the next day in the areas where you feel pain. A couple of things that might help are to elevate the head of the bed on bricks or 2X4s, enough to give you a bit of an incline to make it harder for those stomach contents to come up and/or not eat several hours before bed. There are also OTC and prescription meds (like zantac, or prevacid) that may help. Some folks find sleeping in a recliner helps. Good luck, CPAP is hard enough without this other stuff.
I Have gerd and take medication for it. The pain I have of a morning is not not from the gerd. This pain is in the muscles of my ribs and back. I actually wake up with the machine pumping the daylights out of me. I have to get up and take medication for the pain and lay back down for another 2 hous off the machine just for the pain to go away. I am trying the whole time to stay awake because I do not have the machine on.

I HAVE GERD AND I TAKE MEDICATION FOR IT . I RARLY EVER HAVE HEARTBURNS.
I PERSONALLY DON'T BELIEVE ITS THE GERD ISSUES.
ITS OUR LUNGS THAT HURT ! ITS OUR RIBS NOT OUR THROAT OR ESOPHAGUS (sp) ANYONE AGREE OR DISAGREE
