I've had an issue with this for a while and was just wondering if this is pretty common...

I use the Swift masks (versions I, II and now the LT) and ever since about the time I switched to the Swift II I've had some irritation on my cheeks from the straps. (I don't think I had it with my "Swift I" oddly enough.) First I thought it was because I'd washed the headgear by hand and maybe hadn't gotten all the soap out, so when I got my second Swift II, and more recently the LT, I made sure to never wash the headgear on them. But I still had it with both of the new, unwashed straps.

I get by with slipping a folded half of a kleenex under the straps on each cheek, but it's kind of annoying. For a more permanent solution I'm thinking about ordering the padacheek things that someone on here makes, but I was wondering if others have this same issue with irritation. Could I be allergic to the material? it just itches, but doesn't really make a rash or noticeable breakouts.

You can also get ResMed's Flannel Strap Booties that come with the LT for Her.
I am happy to help you with your mask strap issues. I make a variety of products to make the masks more comfortable.

I have been designin padding solutions for over 5 years now, and if there is any issue you are having with the headgear, I can most likely help.

I use the Swift LT for women nasal pillows. I also use the Padacheek strap covers. I like them a lot. I found that they were a little too large for my straps so I just made a few stitches on the outside now they fit perfectly. This also keeps my mask in place and I have no leaks.
so for those of you who have added these pads and booties, is it mostly just to avoid the strap marks or is anyone else feeling like they're allergic to the straps? I'm wondering if I'm just weirdly sensitive to something in the strap material maybe.

Thanks Karen. I'll be checking out your website again this week!
I didn't feel like I was allergic, the straps just weren't very soft. I just wanted more comfort with the straps not touching my skin. And I have to say they are more comfortable now.
