Hi, i live in Australia and my husband suffers from Sleep Apnea, which as you all now is a huge concern for his health and of course for me.
We have tried some a couple of products but he doesn't like wearing any of them. I saw a tv program featuring the Aveo TSD. it is manufactured in New Zealand and looks to be a strange little design. testimonials appear to be good for this product but i was wondering if anyone on this forum has purchased one and if it really works. They retail for around US$150 so they are not cheap to buy! ..although i think there is someone selling them on ebay a little cheaper. any feedback would be appreciated! thanks Katerina

It seemed to make a lot of sense to me. Unfortunately, I tried it and I found it to be quite painful. My wife made relentless fun of me, saying that I looked like I had a pacifier in my mouth. When I woke up in the morning, it took several hours before I had any feeling in my tongue back. The manufacturer said I used too much suction, but it didn't seem that way at the time. I just couldn't bear trying it again with less suction, and haven't touched it since..
Oral devices will only help if the obstruction is caused by the tongue. Unfortunately that is not always what causes the obstruction.
thanks to everyone that has contributed to this discussion. you have all been very helpful!
Hi I snore. I also have sleep apnea... I talked to the ENT professionals and they want $2500 to cut part of my palate out,,my reseach shows that it can work ....but only for a short time ....your tissue grows back, so they would want more money to repeat it,aaarrrr (job for life) . I talked to respiratory physicians ,, they wanted me to wear a mask and have a pump by my bed forever ( they forgot to tell me about the ongoing costs ...power ,special water, and new masks and tubes and it kills passion. It costs me $250 to see my sleep specialist.... I wonder who the hell owns you... Sometimes it feels like he only wants to push me to the machine..aaaaaaaaarrr $$$$$$$$ I saw a news item on the web ages ago for the tongue thing. It cost $150 and it arrived fast. My first thought was yaaaahhh . it was so hard to get use to. I contacted them via their web site and they told me that they had a newer one. They sent a new one (2 weeks) and asked if I had tried other methods to fix my snoring and apnea. They mentioned dental devices and suggested I check them out. So I did ( I looked and it was $1500 start price!) ...any way i tried the second aveo they sent. this one was less bulky in my mouth and my tongue was funny as it was sucked a bit forward. BBBBUUUTTTT my wife has told me she has not had such a great sleep for years.but here goes the kicker 2 weeks ago in the mail I got a new one (a 3rd one!). They told me I was one of the first to try it and they wanted my feedback..(No charge) Oh my it is night and day from the first one I tried. My life has changed. I mostly have to peel it off my tongue in the morning ...its works and It cost less than the doctors visit. Its up to you , this is part of my story. Cheers
