Hello all:
I am into my second month of cpap using the Swift FX for her nasal pillow. Although I feel better now than before cpap, I seem to be waking more in the night than ever. The best way to describe it is that I go to bed with the Swift adjusted to nice air flowing into my nostrils...its a great feeling. Not as great as chocolate, but good. I've spent most of my life with nasal stuffiness and the cpap seems to clear me up.

I go to sleep and then awaken frequently to find that the nasal pillow does not seem to be delivering that great "flow". I adjust, go back to sleep and the pattern repeats. And, my nose gets stuffy.

It seems as if the slightest thing can cause the nasal pillow to collapse and the flow to stop. I've tried several sizes and appear to be using the correct one. I am also using a hose hanger and I have adjusted the hose up over- head so I am not getting tangled. I also invested in a great down pillow as all my other pillows would dislodge the mask. But, even with all this, I still seem to be having adjustment/waking issues.

Any advice would be appreciated. I am committed to the nasal pillow. Absolutely cannot tolerate the full or partial masks.

Perhaps a different style of nasal pillows may serve you better, or perhaps you need to fiddle with the straps some more. I think perhaps another style of pillows may be your best bet. Have you been having this problem since you started using the Swift FX for Her pillows?  Could you need a new set?  It is not good to be waking constantly during the night. Perhaps some other members can suggest some pillows  besides the Swift FX.

The Swift FX is my favorite mask. I do sometimes have trouble with the pillows breaking down or collapsing. When this happens I switch to the Respironics Go life:

I am also a big fan of the paykel flex series:

Thanks Mary, Rock and Mike:
For Mary, I am on a new set of nasal pillows and I've switched the sizes around. Im not sure if I've had the problem all along ir if it became more noticeable once I became acclimated to sleeping with equipment. In the beginning, I'd, wake to finding the gear on the floor; then I'd wake to tangling; now it's to collapsed pillows.

For Mike:
I think my "pillow pillow" as in what my head is on not what's up my nose, is ok. My son also swears by the buckwheat pillows. I felt like I was sleeping on grain. Wait... I was ;)

For Rock:
Do different pillows fit the head gear for the Swift? Or, do I have to start over with new head gear for the ones you mentioned?
