Feel like I am choking with my machine these past few nights???

I don't mean to be a pest but, since coming off my sleep meds I find at night I feel like I am choking with my mask on--what does this mean???? My supplier is on holidays for another week and a half and I don't meet with the sleep doc until next month.....If I were to get my data read at another supplier could they tell me what is going on???? ( I don't have the software to read my data)

Could this mean that I need my pressure increased????? I am on an auto-set data capable machine with a settling for 25 minutes from 6 to 15. I am using a nasal pillow mask with a chin strap--it gets so bad that I have been taking off my mask at night then the choking feeling goes away--but, I know that is not the answer to this problem.....my ribs get quite sore as well which has never happened before....has this ever happened to anyone out there????

I could use some help with this one......thank you again :)

I look forward to any feedback on this question

It happens both when I lie down to sleep and I am awakened at night with this feeling but intensified....that is why I have to take off my mask it stops once I take off my mask....

I stopped my sleep meds because they were making me drowsy during the day......should I get my pressure changed??? Or should I switch to straight CPAP--I did that back and forth with the sleep doc a while back because my data showed I was having more apneas with the straight CPAP, that is why he switched me back to auto set.....

So I may be awakened by the pressure changes occurring at night??? Could this be causing the pain I feel when I wake up at night as well????? I really just want to be on my cpap machine each night.....
I look forward to your reply thanks again :)
Hello jnk:

I thank you for your input--if my air levels are too low could this be causing my ribs to get sore......I am up at 2:00 am because the pain is so bad with my cpap now that I am sitting here without my machine the pain is going away.....this is getting worse instead of better.....

I appreciate any feedback on this :)
