Favorite CPAP Mask and Why
My favorite CPAP mask is the Mirage Activa nasal mask - i love how it doesn't feel tight on my face... but more like a cushion of air resting on it.

have been a patient now for 18 years and working as a home care manger and sleep tech since 1985 have worn virtually every mask made. my choice every night is the resmed activa nasal mask. good fit. able to wear head gear very loosely. most nights no leaks at all while sleeping. also like the fisher paykel 407 and zest masks and the resmed quattro full face mask for patients.

I got the Swift FX nasal mask on Mike's recommendation, and I am very pleased. It's gel harness is very comfortable. It is very slim and beats the heck out of those rigid shells on the face masks I have tried in the past. I can sleep with my face in the pillow and it doesn't leave ugly sore places on my face from sleeping face down.

I use the pillow mask Fisher & Paykel Opus 360, it fits nicely and very seldom gives me leak problems. To solve the problem of marks on face i adopt mask straps covers.

I like the Resmed FX nasal pillows, Micro nasal, and the Quattro II FFM. I own all 3. Despite the bridge problem of the last 2 I like them for ease of use. I do not feel like I have the FX on when I use it. Resmed makes it very easy to adjust these masks. I also own the Fisher Paykel Flex nasal. This is a very comfortable mask.

Woops! I just sent a reply to the wrong discussion.. I need a full face mask. After trying many different types, I decided on a ResMed Mirage Quatro,size Small, If you want Small Head Gear, you have to order it separately, as they send Medium size head gear with the Small Mask.
I have always been a side sleeper. With this mask and cut out pillow, I usually sleep 4-5 hours without interruption. Then I wake up every hour or so to adjust the mask. I use the Respironics BiPAP auto SV with Encore Smart Card and it is a great machine.

I LOVE my Respironics Simplicity Small simple nasal cushion. The headgear is way too large and requires a pair of scissors and some velcro. But there is so little to the Simplicity, its so lightweight, it doesn't go anywhere near the bridge of my nose.
I really like the ProBasics Zzz-Mask Small full face. Again the headgear is way too large for me and requires a pair of scissors and some velcro. The Zzz-Mask is the lightest weight full face mask I've tried and there's not a lot to it considering it is a full face mask.
On the other hand, I briefly tried the Respironics FitLife and I really think I am going to like it once I get a chance to work w/it. The only leak I had w/it was at the center of the forehead which is a rather strange place to have a leak. I just need some time to figure out the best way to eliminate that leak.
I'm not a real nasal pillows fan but I rather liked the Swift LT and am thinking I just might like that Swift FX if I ever decide to try it.
I'm thinking I'd like to try the Resmed Liberty. I think it is the Liberty that is the hybrid style? Oro-nasal mask?

I'm really glad to see this question and I'm eagerly looking forward to reading everyone's posts . . .
I started out using the ResMed XS Quattro and it has continued to work out pretty well for me. It was loose at 1st and I had too much leakage – but ResMed sends a Medium Headgear with all Quattros and I found out they also have a Small Headgear and I ordered that separately – and with the Small Headgear the Quattro became MUCH more comfortable and my leak rate was cut in half.
The Quattro was really comfortable at my beginning pressure of 9 but my pressure has been increasing – now at 14 – and with the increase of pressure, as I’m having to tighten the mask more, it’s not as comfortable, it’s getting harder to control leaks and it is causing the unwelcome facial creasing marks.
Also, if my pressure needs to go higher than 14, the leak rate of the Quattro may become too high and it may be necessary for me to choose another mask so I will be following this post about other masks with great interest.
Looking forward to read about other’s experiences . . .

The Fisher-Paykel Forma mask. It's great for mouth breathers because it goes under the chin and sits a little higher on the nose instead of right on the bridge. Other full face masks used to push on my bottom teeth and started to destroy the work I had done with 5 years of braces!

i use quite common strap covers (Snugglehose manufacturer) and in my opinion they don't interfere with the mask straps adjustments.

I used to switch masks about three times a year and have boxes full of masks that don't fit. Then I got a new RT who, himself, used a CPAP and suggested that I try the mask that he, himself, had fallen in love with. Ever since I have used the Breeze. I've been on it for about 10 years now. Actually can't remember how long. I tried one other about a year ago but went right back to using the Breeze. The only thing that I can't do with the Breeze on is to wear glasses. Any suggestions from a Breeze user who wears glasses??? The one problem is that it leaks quite a bit. My wife complains about the noise but I'm used to it!

My favorite mask is the ResMed Mirage Swift II Nasal Pillows Mask. The mask is comfortable and seals very well. I've tried various full face units without success due to the face farts I do, however, need a chin strap to keep my mouth closed. I also use a mouth guard from Walmart to avoid bruxism, teeth grinding (tooth grinding in Kentucky - sorry Kentucyians) .. Has anyone found an alternative to a chin strap, or an integral chin strap to the nasal pillow or anything else to hold one's mouth closed?
