I have two back-up machines in case one goes down. One is an older Tranquility model and the other is a older Apap. Both work good and will do in case my main machine stops working in the middle of the night or on a holiday.

What about you?

i plan to get a backup machine soon. but for now, i am relying on my one lonesome m-series with a-flex. when i first started off on cpap, i had a remstar plus i believe it was -- whatever the cheapest Respironics blower is. not data capable, no auto-adjust, etc. when i upgraded, i gave it to a friend who otherwise would not be able to afford a cpap at all.
Carol! Do you still have the Users Manual for the Tranquility?

Yep, I have a back up, a Respironics pre-M Series Bi-PAP Auto w/Bi-Flex. My regular bi-level is a Resmed VPAP Auto. I bought the Respiroics, lightly used (226 hours) and cpapauction.com.

Prior to my being switched to bi-level I had purchased a Respironics pre-M Series Auto w/C-Flex brand new at yahooauctions when they were still active. I liked my insurance supplied Resmed S8 Elite w/EPR so well that when the opportunity arose to purchase a lightly used Resmed S8 AutoSet Vantage from a fellow member on a different apnea support forum I did so and eventually sold the Respironics.

After having to return a defective CPAP and having to use a loaner w/no humidifier, etc. for almost a full month no way would I be w/o a backup xPAP if I can possibly avoid it!!!
I use the backup as a travel device as well. Its so easy to just grab the carrying case and walk out the door. And its so great when I get home to not have to unpack and set up, but to just fall in bed w/my regular xPAP just sitting there ready and waiting for me!!!!
No, I don't have a back-up machine. I don't even have a back-up mask! Last Memorial Day, the plastic where the hose hooks up broke. I called my provider and it took about 15 minutes to convince him that the piece snapped off. We were going away for the day, so I had to leave it outside and he was going to stop to try and fix it. He ended up giving me a new one as the other was "defective".
I have no backup. In case of failure at an inopportune time, I will sleep in my recliner until replacement comes.
No, I don't have a backup machine. I'm having trouble getting a main one
nope...just the 1.

I had a back up mask until my dog, ate the seal thingie....so now I'm using my back up....& need to get another one!
Nope, I don't have a back-up. But my machine is through a company that provides 24/7 service. I have had issues with my Nebulizer in the middle of the night and the person on call just delivers you another machine to use until their next business day. So I don't worry. Once, I was out of town and thought I was missing a power cord (I wasn't, it was just me not being familair with taking the cords off and on) and they were sending out a rep to get me set up. Nice to be with a national medical supply company!
Judy,
I have uploaded the manual for the Tranquility. Hope it helps.

I have my main machine, a Resmed S8 Elite I, and a backup, which I use when I travel, a ResMed S8 Compact. I always have spare masks, filters, and hoses on hand. Murphy's Law assures that the every essential device will cease functioning at 5:01 PM on a weekday or on a weekend / holiday.
I bought another for travelling which also doubles as a backup.
