Hi Guys,

I wanted to ask everyone to, whenever possible, post to this Discussions section rather than posting to other peoples' walls. The reason is that when you post to the Discussions section, it's all public and front and center so that everyone has the benefit of your question/thinking, but when you post to peoples' walls, it's unlikely that anyone except that one person will find your post. If you have something confidential to say just to one person, there are ways to send private messages. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for all your participation!

Warm regards,
Mike

Beautifully said Mike!!

We are here to help one another. I know the heading of this section is Discussions -- but each and every question you have is important -- if you have questions, thoughts, tips, helpful ideas, etc. -- please post them here on the Discussion page. In this way we can benefit from each other's answers, thoughts, tips, ideas.

Do not be embarrassed about any questions you may have -- if you have it someone else probably does to.

Please feel free to jump in to the discussions that interest you with your thoughts, ideas, suggestions, remarks, etc.

No matter how short or long you have been here or have suffered or know someone that suffers from sleep apnea we can learn from each other.
Mike and Carol,
Thanks for encouraging everyone to place all correspondence on the discussions board. I agree that if we keep it all on the open discussion board, then everyone in the group can truly benefit from something that may be being said or asked. You never know who might have a question (or answer) to something you may be talking about with someone else!

I am so thankful for our group and find it very interesting and helpful to me, and can also see how it is beneficial to others as well. I am amazed at how much the patient is actually left on their own after being dx'd by their physician, and how little we are actually told about our sleep apenas and the mask systems, and just everything! I do wish there were more Respiratory Therapists like Rock Connor!!!!!!!!

Thanks,
Melodie
Rock On! Yeah, it's fantastic to have professionals like Rock on here who are willing to give us the benefit of their thoughts, whether they agree or disagree with what's being said here. Check out also Dr. Park, who I've made a featured member-- he's an MD on the forum and has been contributing from time to time.

I noticed on Rock's page he is a user of cpap. That makes a difference since has a vest stake in treatment and understands some of the pittfalls and issues dealing with xpap use.

I wish all RT's had to use the equipment for a period of time -- they would then empathize with the patient and better understand where the user is coming from. (I know this is unrealistic but hey its just a thought).

We have a few RTs that visit www.cpaptalk.com and they are usually very helpful and provide excellent advice. It is much appreciated when RTs, sleep technicians, doctors, DME providers and others offer insight on equipment and what they have to deal with.
