After an abortive CPAP trial, which lasted 7 months, I am considering a second go. The first trial was entirely unsuccessful – I experienced no relief and, I might add, I got absolutely no support from the home care company. Shortly after I stopped using CPAP, I began using an oral appliance, which, while much easier to tolerate, has not appreciably improved my quality of sleep. My principal sleep doctor recommended a second CPAP trial, either by itself or in combination with the oral appliance, on the theory that a) I now have a better understanding of how CPAP works and am better equipped to deal with any pitfalls which might arise, b) that the oral appliance might reduce the required pressure, thus making CPAP, or better yet, AutoPAP, easier to tolerate and c) that nasal pillows might also be easier to tolerate than a nasal mask. At this point, I'm willing to try any approach that offers a reasonable chance for success. Does anyone have any HELPFUL comments or suggestions?

Be patient, this is not a race, baby steps are better than long strides. Check out the Resmed Swift FX. it is a very nice nasal pillow mask.
Good advice. Sounds like an option.
