I also over a year ago was diagnosed with Asthma.  I initially sleep on my back by turn on my side all the time and the resmed quattro, I find my self either tightening to stay on my face, which I was told not to or pushing the mask to the bridge of my nose, which sometimes stops leaking in my eyes, but hurts my nose.

You may need a smaller mask.

I have been on the cpap for less than a year and when my dr. set the pressure at 14 because of my snoring, which she stated was being caused by passage ways swelling while sleeping.  I would think that kind of pressure would blow off my face, especially while sleeping on my side.  I am as my wife says a tosser and a turner.  I am going to see my sleep dr. in a couple of weeks to see about trying another kind of mask, since my quattro causes headaches and skin irritation around my nose, I thinking of trying the respironics fit life total face mask, since there are no pressure points and that may work with my facial hair.  What do you think.

It would be worth a try.  I love my FitLife.

Does the fitlife have a good seal, the issue with quattro, even though it's a nice mask is that, I find myself, probably like other who've been on the cpap for a short time, that I find myself constantly adjusting the nob at the top of the mask which sometimes with out knowing since the masks leaks, of over tightening as well as the straps, but then it confines and leaves red marks around the nose and forehead and get headaches.  Does the fitlife allow you to sleep on your side.

I find the FitLife (not the one size fits all) to get and hold a seal.  But I don't have a beard.

It's not really a beard it facial hair like 1/2" that grows overnight.  I sometimes have to shave my face in the morning and in the evening.  I'm ancestors our have italian and german, so facial seems to be an issue for me.  Hopefully when I talk to my sleep dr.  they'll let me try the lifefit mask.  I think with the short facial hair the mask would seal better than the quattro. what do you think.

I appreciate that I'll have to look into that, because lately I haven't been sleeping good lately because of the mask leaks and any to improve that would be great.

Try a Quietus liner it will cure skin irritation and make using the mask more comfortable

Just a general question due to my mask leak lately.  Is it normal to feel tired even after using the cpap machine.  For some reason, I have been feeling exhausted.

Sometimes it takes longer than others to feel better.  How long have you been on the machine?  Your pressure may need to be adjusted up or down. Good luck, keep us posted.

I've been on the cpap since last may of 2010.
