Hello. I have been using my CPAP machine for about 3 years now, if my recall is correct.

The reading shows about 5600 hours. However, I am curious as to where my machine gets it's reference regarding the Hours per night reading. It is showing that I only use my machine 2 hours per night, when I wear it all night, every night. There does not seem to be any reading or setting for a date or time, so where or what is it's reference?

I do wear my CPAP when and if I take a nap at other times such as Sunday afternoon, or at other times.

Thanks in advance.

ZolliStar, Chris got in before me, yes, that is what you are after, it is like a card that goes into your phone only a little larger, hopefully she will send the right one to fit your machine. Let us know when you has put it in, it should just slide in make sure you put it in with the arrow pointing to the slot. We'll guide you through this whole process so don't worry if you are a absolutely non-techie person, we all are at the start, I'm lucky I write computer programs and do computer training for a living.

When you see if it goes in, the next step will be you will need to buy a card reader, if you don't have one, they are onoes that are used for digital camera's, they cost around $40, but lets get the SD card out of the way first, it should have come with your original purchase. We'll have you reading you data like an expert soon, Terry.

Lol, all you have to think about tonight (for you, it's Tuesday morning here) is having a good nights sleep, ZolliStar.

Where do you live, Terry?  (I live in New York City, fwiw.)

I live in Melbourne, Australia. My wife and I would love to get to New York one day :).

It's nearly 10.00am and I started work not long ago, my US clock shows it's 7.00pm Monday?

Your US clock is, indeed, correct.

And if you ever come to New York New York (one of the greatest cities in the world: I moved here to be here) LET ME KNOW!

I'll show you and your wife around. It's a playground for adults.

You might want to check your computer specs. A lot of computers these days have SD card readers builtin.

Wow. That's good to know.

I'd have to call me tech to tell me how to find out. (I really am a non-techie -- AND I don't have the requisite 13 year-old who can help me.)

Yes, my computer, a Dell, with Windows 7 has an SD card slot.  I open SleepyHead and import the data from the SD card.  The SleepyHead program finds the drive that holds the data.

ZolliStar, thanks for the offer and if your ever in Melbourne, I'll return the favour, we were coming in 2001 and we know what happened and have kept putting it off because I have an 18 year old dog that is on his last legs and we can't leave him at the moment.

You (actually, your dog) has been on my mind for weeks.

I had an aging dog. It was miserable taking care of him toward the end. I put off putting him to sleep because I didn't want my misery to be the reason for ending his life.

He had an inoperable tumor that was so big (and growing) that anyone could see it. He wasn't in pain but did need to go out...and out...and out...and out.  I live in New York City, near the Empire State Building, in fact, so this meant that I had to take him out...and out...and out.  One night I took him out five times between midnight and 6:00 am.

At a certain point he was in real and acute discomfort. Sobbing, I finally took him to a new place I had never been to (it was a weekend when his long-time vet was not available: this place was 24/7. It took me over an hour before I could allow the young vet to administer the drugs/medication or whatever it is. I sobbed and sobbed and sobbed before, during and after.

BUT I'll always remember something that young woman told me that an older, experienced vet had told her: "Better one week too early than one day too late."

I was more than one day too late.

I'll never let that happen to a beloved pet ever again. I pass this along this experience in case it could possibly help you.

Thanks ZolliStar, we actually had planned to have him put to sleep in November but the vet had to cancel the appointment and by the next day he had come good again. He's not in any pain and the vet said to let him go until he does start suffering pain or dies naturally. I had a cat that was very sick and had to be put to sleep so I know how you felt. The decision is so hard. We keep him very comfortable and I'm up with him sometimes a couple of times a night just to make sure he's OK. thanks for the advice, Terry.

Zollistar, I am non-tech, too, but I found downloading SleepyHead and getting to my data surprisingly easy.  Once I installed the program it searched for and found my data in the SD slot on my computer.  Thanks to the developer of SleepyHead software.  This could have been a money maker.  We OSA people will pay just about anything to read our data.
