Correspondence with Brazilian about Sleep Apnea in Brazil

fyi:

You can post the message in the open forum, no problem for me. I`m trying to do something here in Brazil to support people with OSA. I really feel lonely here. We have some good Sleep Institutes of reserach , but nothing as a suport group or a web site in portuguese. The Cpap machine are really expensive here, much more expansive then USA and we dont have "where" to talk to other people about experiences in CPAP therapy or OSA. So we get the Cpap machine and don`t have how to share experiences...

hi, Mike, i`m a brazilian Journalist and video maker and I also have a story with OSA . For a long time I was struggling with feeling tired all the time, without any energy, chest pain... I had a diagnosis of depression and anxiety and something that my doctor calls "night panic sindrome". For 5 years I was taking pills. In december 2008 I was taking seven pills each day ( for depression, for chest pain what the doctor diagnosed as anxiety, for "night panic attacs" which , in fact, was the OSA) Then I had a sleep study and I was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea.I started CPAP therapy, and it changed everything. No more chest pain, no more panic attaks at night, and much more energy ( I think I didn`t get a good point in my cpap therapy yet for felling as fresh and enregized as I want.).
In Brazil we don`t have much information about OSA and we don`t have any support group. So , the things you write here are so important to me in this moment.
