Hi Mike
I enjoyed you sharing your personal trip down the path to an OSA diagnosis. When I was in my late 50s my undiagnosed severe sleep apnea was depriving me of my energy and my life. I just decided that this is what happens when you grow older; you lose your energy, vitality, elan and mental edge.
Then luckily I took a vacation to New Mexico with my brother and we shared a motel room. In the morning he said "You worry me at night; you sound like a man who is drowning and gasping for breath. " That comment lead to a sleep study with a diagnosis of severe sleep apnea. I ended up on a Bipap and got my life back. I probably had OSA for 15 to 20 years with little effect until the fianl 5 years or so.
Along with an OSA diagnosis and Bipap maching come about a million questions; I have found your site, the forums and your contributions very helpful.
Thank you, Tom
