Hello,

My name is Laura Wojcik and I work for a marketing research company in Chicago, Survey Center Focus, LLC. (visit our website at www.scfllc.com) We are currently speaking with people who have been diagnosed as having Obstructive Sleep Apnea to better understand their experiences regarding treatment. Specifically we are looking for patients who were diagnosed in a sleep clinic and are currently using a PAP device.

We're looking to speak with people in the Chicagoland area for 2 hours in their home during the week of August 15. Each person who completes an interview would receive $200.

If you are interested in participating feel free to reply to this post, email me directly (lauraw@scfllc.com) or give me a call at 312-321-8296.

Hello Laura, What is the purpose of in home, Chicagoland area ? Their are plenty of us whom could use $200 and would be willing to talk on the phone that do not live near Chicago. Good Sleep,Chris

Laura, welcome to SleepGuide.  I hope you get some responses to your request.  Manyy of us live out of the area, but would be able to complete a phone interview.

Hi Chris,

Our researchers want to see how somebody with sleep apnea goes about there life, where they keep their PAP device, how they work their device, etc. If any other markets open up I'll be sure to pass the word along. Also, if a phone interview becomes a possibility I will let everyone know.

Thanks for your response!

Laura

I would love to be on interview team.

Hi Chris~the only thing I would personally add to your comment is:  How I dread nightfall every day knowing I may have a battle on my hands instead of sleep and the anticipation I have upon morning wake up wondering how my face will look that morning due to marks.  And the constant recurring thought that this will happen for the remainder of my life. If it only could be "put mask on, sleep, get up and have excellent results from treatment and not look as though I had been through some sort of facial torture during the night. That is how CPAP is for me.  I hate it and unless before I die something changes about the way it is now I always will.

Chris, I was not being critical of YOUR comments at all.  I was just adding my additional comments to "day in the life of a C-PAPPER".  How's that for a new word.  I would just love to be able to look forward to going to sleep at night when I am really sleepy.  Some nights I can.  But on the nights the mask just won't do I am so frustrated.  Guess I need to tell my husband I now have the "rugged" look!   Have a good nap!   :)

You never know what they might find. I have discovered a great deal of things from many of you in just a few words. I am very interested in this research.
I did not mean to sound "closed minded".  I am all for any new, good info!!!
