BRPT Unveils "Certified Polysomnographic Technician" Certificate

The introductory, exam-based certificate for sleep professionals will launch in March 2010.

Those passing will be awarded a CPSGT certificate good for 36 months by which time the holder must have earned the RPSGT credential or the CPSGT expires.

So far not one state has adopted this credential. At least that is my understanding.
Forgive me, Rock Hinkle. I'm missing something here? This is not a good thing? I'll confess I didn't read the full article before posting the link as I had to go pick my car up from the repair shop. Then when I got home I forgot about it. I SHALL go read it now!
I do not know if it is a good thing or a bad thing yet. If the states pick it up it could be wonderful. Maybe. I plan to do some more research on it in the next day or 2.
yes, it would be good to understand how, if at all, this would impact the patient as well as the sleep medicine field generally.
