Interesting, Mike. Kinda makes me wonder. Except .... my sister and I tried to go down a steep hill on a sled, me on top of her, she tried to steer between 2 trees and we didn't make it. I was treated for 6 months w/sulfa for a kidney infection. Finally in desperation my dad took me to the last doctor in town, an osteopath. He said I had a tipped pelvis, one manipulation and I no longer had pain, etc. but I still wet the bed. Until I was 8 years old. My dad again took me to an osteopath - this one in a different town. He said my pelvis was still somewhat tipped, one manipulation and I no longer wet the bed.

But I did still have quite a bit of urgency and a LOT of frequency. And have had all my life. Until CPAP. Now, it is just one trip a night instead of 3-4 trips.

On the other hand I never felt I had a sleep problem, nor did any of my family ever indicate any problems UNTIL a whiplash in 1994. From then on in I had sleep PROBLEMS! Until then I had been mostly a tummy sleeper all my life. Due to my neck I haven't been able to sleep on my tummy since.

It makes me wonder .... I was between 3 and 5 when we had the sledding accident. I don't know if I was still wetting the bed prior to the sledding accident.

My daughter does delight in telling a story she swears is true: she came home from work unexpectedly late one night. I was asleep on the sofa on my back snoring. She went upstairs and her Collie was sleeping in the hallway, on her back, feet up against the wall, snoring. Her father was in our bed, snoring. She went into her bedroom and the cat was on her bed, on her back between the two pillows, snoring. She says she thought of going out to the barn to sleep - except the way her night had been going the horse would probably be snoring too!. That is the ONLY time anyone has mentioned my snoring - until my PSG.

So - did my OSA start after the whiplash as I've always believed? I didn't go to the doctor for two weeks so never had a cervical collar (xray verified the hyperextension injury tho) and since the whiplash my posture sucks - head forward, shoulders rolled foreward. Or have I had OSA since the sledding accident as a kid or have I had OSA since even an infant? Too late now, parents are gone to tell us anything they might remember.

Or did the whiplash exacerbate an already existing conditon and just make it come to the fore sooner than it otherwise would?
I can't drink whiskey anymore cause that makes me wet the bed. Does that count. Great post Mike. There is a theory that left handed children are more likely to wet the bed. i wonder if this has any merit.

Man!!! I can't win! I'm left-handed! I must have been destined to have OSA!! Are you into genealogy, Rock Hinkle??
I have dabbled a little. i am a novice to say the least. As you have stated a few times. My curiousity leads me to research anything i find to be of interest. My brother is left handed. So i researched it to mess with him as he is definately not in his right mind most of the time. so here you go Judy everything i have on lefties.

Judy I just realized that alot of what I have is from binary. I will send it to you privately. If anyone else wants it please let me know.

Sleep apnea can also cause bed wetting and/or frequent trips to the bathroom at night in adults.
