I have had a cpap for about one year. My initial RX was a 15. I have used the unit at about a 75% compliance for that time and life hasn't improved a whole lot pre-cpap. I just  purchased a PR System 1 Auto CPAP in hopes of collecting some data. I set the max output at 15 per my original prescription. after the first night of use I checked the data and had recorded 35 AHI's, 6% Periodic Breathing and a 90% Pressure of 15 (My max Setting). Last night I raised the limit to 20 and the results were simular with the exception of my 90% pressure which was 17.5. I know this is an average of the two days. I am concerned with the data I have collected in just two days. Think it is time for another study. Just throwing it out there for some discussion.

How long have you been using CPAP? Which mask are you using? What is your leak rate? Which position are you sleeping in?
I have using the device for about 10 months. I do not know what is my leak rate. I can only sleep on my back because if I turn on my side I get instant bloating and not from swallowing.

Well, the PR S1 isn't the best device for checking your data via the LCD screen. It is almost a necessity to use the EncoreViewer or EncorePro software w/the PR S1s to get any data of any real value.

As long as you have decent insurance coverage for in-lab studies far be it from me to discourage going thru another to better pinpoint your needed therapy pressure.

However, it is the LEAK rate that you most need to know before evaluating any of your other data or selecting a therapy pressure to use. A high Leak rate usually requires a higher pressure needed because too much of your therapy is escaping.

xPAPs just are not as accurate as an in-lab study, their value is in detecting and reporting TRENDS in therapy results, which the in-lab studies can not do due to the economics of repeated in-lab studies over multiple nights. Thus they compliment each other. The point is, one night's worth of home PAP data doesn't have a whole lot of value. You have to be aware of a likely "first night effect" plus we just do NOT sleep the same night after night. You want at least a week's worth of data for every ONE change you make whether therapy setting or mask.

Thanks for the response. I am going to collect data for this week , so I can give it to my doctor. My latest average is AHI's down to 14.5 and my 90% pressure of 19.5 with 0% periodic breathing
