My wife is moving away from a nasal pillows mask even though it's the excellent ResMed LT for Her because one of her nostrils is bigger than the other. She's trying a nasal mask next. Thought I'd throw this info out there if there's anyone else with asymmetric nostrils who's having problems with a nasal pillows mask.

Mike, I don't know which nasal pillows mask it is but there is one nasal pillows mask that has separate pillows so a person can use one size pillow in one nostril and another size pillow in the other nostril. I read about this in another sleep apnea forum but don't remember which forum or which nasal pillows mask.
Re: Judy's comment:

The Breeze is one that has separate nasal pillows for each nostril. A lot of folks like it, but it personally drove me bonkers and I went back to my trusty Swift. I just had to adjust it too many times in the night.
Also the the way the pillows are made on the opus makes it fit a wider range of nares
If I remember correctly there are some "fixes" for the Breeze headgear and nasal pillows posted by users at cpaptalk.com A PM to RestedGal at cpaptalk.com will find the various "fixes" for you. Or try a search on "lab rat awards".
I have the same problem! If your wife really likes the pillows style mask, she might try the Breeze with nasal pillows made by Puritan Bennett/Covidien. Unlike other pillows masks, she can mix and match the pillows on the Breeze, so she can have different sizes for each nostril. There are also pillows called nasal "dilators" made for this mask which are just a little more stiff and a tad bit longer which can help if one side of the nose collapses a little because of the different size nostrils. At least for me, the nostril size differs because the septum is a bit crooked and the dilator on one side gets past the protruding part of the septum so the hole of the dilator isn't blocked. Here is a link to the mask for your information: http://www.ezcpap.com/breezeheadgearwithnasalpillows.aspx. She could also try the Bravo and mix and match pillows, but I haven't had a lot of luck with the headgear: http://www.ezcpap.com/bravonasalpillowsmask.aspx.
Devilbis has a mask where you can use two different size pillows. I would look at that if she wishes to stay with pillows
Thanks for all your suggestions. After experimenting with other types of nasal pillow masks, she got a nasal mask instead: the Respironics ComfortLite 2. She liked that not a lot of the mask touched her face, and that it doesn't sit much on her upper lip. If she's happy, I'm happy. We'll see how tonight goes. Crossing my fingers.
The Respironics ComfortLite 2 comes w/2 sizes of nasal pillows and 2 sizes of simple nasal cushions. At least it did when I got one back in late 2006 or early 2007. Actually I liked it quite well, except after 2-3 months the headgear "cap" or whatever you want to call it was breaking off my hair and thinning it out. It wasn't quite as stable as one would want. Once I tried the simple nasal cushion I liked it really well. It was the CL2's simple nasal cushion that gave my local DME supplier's RT the idea to suggest the Simplicity simple nasal cushion which as you may remember quickly became my favorit mask. I understand they have remodeled or revised the headgear somewhat.
she actually had a pretty good night with it last night. i'll start a new thread, since it veers a little off topic.

we've now switched her to the ResMed Activa LT Nasal Mask, which is the newer version of the mask I use (I'm jealous). She got 4 hours of sleep with it last night (the first night she wore it), and didn't have any specific problems, so I'm hopeful we've found a winner.
