Which mask are you using? Some are more notorious than others about breaking so if we knew which mask you were using we could tell you more.

Without additional info we don't know what kind of tab you are talking about. Somewhere on the mask should be the name or at least the company name. Each company seems to have their own quirks where their "weak" spots are.
