Can't imagine any DME actually going through with all these steps in addition to the steps already required by existing state and federal regulation, especially with reimbursement rates being whacked as hard as they have been lately.

Hail! I'm not even impressed w/AASM's accredidation of sleep labs!!! Nor w/their wanting to make certification easier for sleep techs. Methinks what they really want is the M-O-N-E-Y.
I like the idea of lab accreditation. I don't like taht there is no follow up. No one is enforcing the rules.

Isn't it AASM that already does accredit sleep labs? And the accredidation allows them to NOT have a sleep doctor who consults w/the patient, that allows the sleep doctor(s) who "read/score" the sleep studies (yeah right) to just FAX their recommendations to the referring doctor and consult only w/the referring doctor, not the patient, if needed. *snort*
