I don't like wearing chin straps.
I really like my Mirage Micro nasal mask because:
- the headgear is a better fit;
- I don't get the irritating blowing air;
- I'm extremely light sensitive and can wear it covering my whole head (and eyes) with a big black scarf with no effects on breathing, BUT
- I tend to get a lot of irritation around my nose when I use the Mirage Micro.
I switched to nasal pillow style at the recommendation of a RT. I rather like this style but, again, have to use a chin strap (as I have to with the Mirage Micro). My problems with the two nasal pillow masks are similar:
- My Swift FX headgear slips during the night; the blowing air is annoying.
- My Mirage Swift headgear also slips during the night; the blowing air is MADDENING.
Any advice from been-there, done-that veterans? I'm placing my order this week. I thought about trying the Liberty FFM but I thought I'd ask my Forum buddies for advice first.
Thanks!
PS: I'm always willing to experiment.
PPS: I've tried two chin straps and actually liked the Ultimate Chin strap very much. The only problem: I wake frequently and want a sip of water; the Ultimate is a problem because the mask covers the mouth so completely. Still, I do recommend it to others and you without risk: it's returnable for a full refund within 30 days.
