Adjustment from auto-set to straight cpap back to auto-set!!!

I was on autoset cpap then went for my sleep test with my cpap machine--afterwards was put on straight cpap with a setting of 10, after the doc read my data with the autoset and straight cpap he recommended that I go back on autoset....is it normal to have a period of readjustment....I was sleeping full nights with my machine after it was switched back to autoset I have not been able to sleep with it on I am sooooo tired it has been two nights....

I would love some feedback :)

What are your settings?

There is typically a period of adjustment and so give it a few days and if it doesn't resolve check with the doctor.
Some people don't do as well w/the constant pressure changes in auto mode. I'd be inclined to ask for a copy of the data download printouts from both whilst you were in autoset and whilst you were in straight CPAP mode.

It could be that your doctor now feels that you are better acclimated to xPAP therapy and he will get BETTER, MORE ACCURATE data this time around in auto mode because you are experiencing LESS leaks than you had been.

On the other hand some of these sleep doctors don't pay any attention to Leak rate and whilst these xPAPs can compensate to a degree for execessive Leaks, they can skew the data if beyond the APAPs ability to adequately compensate.
Thanks sleepycarol and Judy:

My data showed that I had alot less leaks on the autoset and not near as many SA episodes my AHI on autoset was 8.5 and on straight cpap went up to 15.8 average......I guess I am just so anxious to get on my machine and stay on it everynight....
