I bought the Encore software and received it yesterday. I have tried to install it several times. My computer is very new. I called the place that I bought it. They tell me that the problem is that is my computer is too fast. I am supposed to call Respironics to tell them that I need a program for 64 bit. I don't even know if they have such a thing.

Any Ideas out there, please.

yes there is a 64bit program for encore
after you install the program you will need to go to the readme files for the username and password

i would like the instructions to get the ahi leaks etc
I can't get it to install so I can read the Readme file. Do you have the 64 bit version?
I also had problems early this year trying to install the software - even my son who works in IT was at a loss. After contacting Respironics (Australia) thay admitted that my computer was "too new" for their software and there was no way it would work. My son then had to install it on an older laptop. Frustrating and absolutely (not really the word I was "thinking")ridiculous from such a big company.
Did they offer a solution? And is your software installed. If it is where did you find the solution? Thanks
Below is a copy of my son's email to Respironics in May 2010 and below is their reply. Too technical for me but it might make sense to you.

Susan

I am Susan’s Son, and figured it might be easier to email you instead of relaying through mum.

PC spec wise, her PC far exceeds the requirements.

She has a 3Ghz Dual Core CPU, 4GB RAM, and 100s of GB of free Hard Drive space.

She is also running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (64bit).

As far as I can gather the problem is being caused by the installation checking to see if the computer it is being run on is a x86 (32bit) machine.

Mum’s machine is running 64bit Windows, and her hardware is 64bit compatible as well.

Normally 32bit software will run on 64bit Windows with almost no problems, this is due to 64bit being 32bit backwards capable. In this case, the installer for the software seems to check for a 32bit version of windows/hardware, and if it doesn’t find it the installation fails.

Is there a solution to installing this software on a 64bit version of Windows?

You are correct, and the problem is caused by the 64 bit version of windows 7 that you are running. Unfortunately, encore viewer does not support this architecture. Please install the software on another PC or return it to your vendor. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks, Encore Support
To Susan and son, thanks for the infotmation. I'm going to hope that Respironics has made some changes since then. In the meantime the sound you hear in the background is me screaming. I don't have an older computer that is running. That;s why I had to get a new computer. Arghhhh

yes i do have a 64bit version and i am still learning how to manipulate it at present the only thing i can say is that while i can access it (i am in the program) it is still a learning curve for me

Follow these instructions to get Encore Viewer running on a 64bit machine. I followed them and it works just fine. Granted... you will need a 32bit machine to do the install, so borrow one with a CD burner and you should have no trouble.

Wow, thanks. I got it installed. I did it pretty much the way the instructions said. I haven't tried it yet. I'll let you know what happens.
Program is installed and I printed my first report using it. I now have 12 pages of information that I am trying to understand. Also, I could not use the card reader but discovered that I just had to stick the card into my laptop and I was off and running. Thanks for everyone's help.
