I have ,or had this-on machine setting 12--I have not used it in years .  I have lost 35 -40 lbs. and sleep doesn't seem to be an issue , but , I found out recently I have fibromyalgia  and have much widespread pain-including chest.  Do I need to be concerned about heart disease, with this combination. Seeing Drs. on referrals takes too much time ( 2 mth.) to get in.  Chest pain is not severe enough to go to ER.  plus I deal with a lot of pain so I , so far, just consider it one more pain. I do get a fair amount exercising and take pretty good care of what I can control.

Since you have not used the machine in years- what were your initial symptoms that led you to be on CPAP? Were you ever re-tested after you lost so much weight? I wouldn't start using the CPAP at the old pressure settings without getting re-tested with a sleep study. The heart issues I couldn't hazard a guess. Heart disease is a well known comobidity with OSA, but with your fibromyalgia, I don't know. So I really don't know anything, but I would wait the two months and take the referral and get checked out. Are you having any symptoms of sleep apnea now,, daytime sleepiness, excessive fatigue (beyond fibromyalgia)? Heart pain in women can be deceptive- a serious problem might not prompt an ER visit. Good Luck, keep us posted.
hi sherry
do you have morning headaches
do you have dry mouth
is your neck size 16 or over
do you gasp at night

with the chest pain go see your doctor as this is the begining of problems so nip it in the bud now
Hie thee to the ER immediately. Chest pain always needs to be evaluated.

I know that when we have much widespread pain (I have fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis), it's very easy to ignore another pain. But chest pain is serious. It may be nothing more than part of your fibro pain, but it could be something serious.

It's possible that your "fair amount of exercising" is causing the chest pain. I have asthma, and if I exercise outdoors when the temperature is 50 or below, I get chest pain. It's been evaluated, my heart is fine, but it was scary when it was happening.

After you've gotten checked out at the ER and have let us know how you're doing, I'll give you some information about the Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program that I teach. It has lowered my fibro pain from level 7 down to 1 and 0.

So please make that ER visit and get your chest pain checked out. And let us know how you are afterward.
