The reson I gave up on PAP was because the thing keep getting me up at 5 in the morning. Was thinking about sugery because of it but after looking into it I just dont want to go there.

Thanks,

you were probably having an apnea event at 5am to wake you up
The same time every morning?
Yes, there is a machine that actually senses when you are about to wake up and decreases the pressure during that time period in order not to disturb you so much. I believe it's called SensAwake.

"In early January 2008 we heard about the new Fisher and Paykel SleepStyle 800 Series of CPAP machines with Fisher and Paykel's new SensAwake technology.
From what we now know a CPAP machine with SensAwake technology will detect when a CPAP user has awakened and will stop the pressure. This makes awakening and going back to sleep more comfortable.

Fisher and Paykel has always made well-designed, capable CPAP machines, so we're excited to see the new SleepStyle 800 Series with SensAwake.

Check back with us often to get the latest information about the forthcoming Fisher and Paykel
SleepStyle 800 Series CPAP machines."

So you are going to have to wake up before the machine knows it?
Sounds that way from this description. I remember something more along the lines that it senses when you are about to wake and decreases the pressure to allow you to get baack to sleep. This may be as good as it gets.
