CPAP Coughing
I just got my CPAP machine Monday. I have tried every night to use it without a lot of success. I keep waking up coughing my head off. I use to humidifier on it but still I start the coughing after a few hours. Can anyone give me advice??

Darlene,
Expect the adjustment process to take some time. You will cough, wake up without it and not remember taking it off, and all sorts of stuff. You did not specify your mask type, that may be a factor. The humidifier will help. You may need to adjust it as well.

Ahhh....Well, I have never been able to use the nasal pillow. The air just felt like it was being forced down my throat too hard. And I coughed! I use a full face mask. Maybe this helps. Good Luck.

it is possible that any tablets you take may cause coughing or dry throut and also other conditions can cause dry coughing

You may be mouthbreathing and losing the therapeutic pressure. Mouthbreathing with a nasal interface can cause dry throat which can cause coughing. Consider a full face mask if you are mouthbreathing.
You may also have the humidifier set too high. What climate do you live in? What is the relative humidity in your bedroom? Too much humidity from the CPAP can cause nasal congestion which could cause more mouthbreathing.
