APAP machine will cost $75 for 4 week trial, anyone else have to pay??

My appt is Tuesday morning to get fitted for my mask and APAP machine. I was told I had to pay a 75.00 rental fee. Is this the norm? Shouldn't this be covered by my insurance plan?

Do you have a copay on your insurance plan?
Yes, but it is only $50 and I already paid it. They specifically said it was for the rental.

My rentals have always been paid by my insurance. However since every plan is different I would call my insurance company and ask about the rental fee. Good luck this morning.

you should ask that the 75 rental fee be deducted from a purchase should a purchase be made

Yes. Ask your insurance company. Make sure you not only understand the costs for rental but also the cost if you later purchase. Know that with some policies it is cheaper to forget the insurance and buy a nice new machine (data capable!) from an internet supplier with your own funds. Figure this all out before you take delivery of a machine.
Too late, paid the $75 and took it home today. I will call my Insurance co. and ask about this rental fee. The machine I got is used but does record the data. Will use it for 4 weeks.
