So I haven't been on in awhile i've been too busy trying to stay compliant with the powers that be at ResMed.

ResMed is now offering a rebate of $50 for any product for those who may be interested..

For example http://1800cpap.com/resmed-swift-fx-cpap-mask-with-headgear.aspx The Swift FX would be $77 after rebate...Or the http://1800cpap.com/resmed-s9-elite-cpap-machine-with-h5i-heated-hu...   S9 Elite would be $962.  I'm sure they are doing this in preperation for selling direct to consumer.  Regardless they have good products.

On a side note.

I know alot of you use insurance for your CPAP Supplies and if you are not happy with your current provider we can bill Humanna and we will do it for you.  If you are interested just call the number on the website. 1-800-274-1366 and we will take care of you.

Also if you are a self pay customer we are running an unadvertised special.  Get any free CPAP Mask with machine purchase.

Thanks for listening.  Just trying to be of some help..

I understand your frustration trust me.. i'm confused by your statement though.... My company always puts patients first. That is why we started the company in the first place... I don't know of a Manufacturer out there who puts patients first primarily because they don't deal with patients really at all. This rebate thing is the beginning of them making contact with patients. I believe it is so they can change there focus and skip over DME's. Which is companies like mine... That is why they are price fixing. So they control what the product is worth when they decide to sell it direct to consumer. This is all speculation for conversation's sake but the writing is on the wall.

Until ResMed stops their Internet price fixing, they can keep their silly little rebates AND their products right now, as far as I am concerned. I believe that it behooves us all to buy from companies that put patients first, not DMEs.

(Note: My views do not necessarily reflect the views of the site administrators, or anyone else who is not mad at ResMed right now for their recent behavior with their machines and their 'minimum advertised price' stupidness.)
Nope, nope, jnk. You are NOT the only one who LOVES the Resmed PAPs but is totally disgusted w/their two-faced pronouncements of care and concern for the patient users. Resmed hasn't given a rat's rear care about the patient since Ferrell stepped down for this new guy, whatever his face is, I can never remember. Maybe just because I tend to read more of their horsepuckies than I do PR or the other manufacturers but it seems Resmed slobbers over how much concern they have for the patients more than the other manufacturers do.
I just read that statement you linked to, jnk. Pardon me while I barf!!! I frequent at least 4 of these apnea support forums and I've read of one h*ll of a whole lot more cases of local DME providers drop-shipping equipment to patients than I have of online DME suppliers not responding to problems w/something they've sold. And I sure as h*ll have read of a LOT more local DME providers providing no education, support, etc. than I have online DME providers failing to respond and offer advice, etc. What I HAVE read in these forums is about the sleazy tactics and less than truths local DME providers use to foist basic, entry level, compliance data only CPAPs on unsuspecting new patients. Resmed's upper echelons have their heads up their rears when it comes to PATIENT support and education. About the ONLY thing Resmed continues to do well is develop and manufacture some of the BEST and most informative PAPs on the market.
You are right on. I do understand and agree with you Jeff. The thing is, I know for a fact that you can run a business and give people good care and make money while your doing it without breaking people's bank just because you can...
For example we were selling the activa lt for $50 and are now forced to sell it for $121. All i can do is take care of people when they call us...
MOST DEFINITELY, I was NOT referring to Mark in anyway, my remarks were aimed directly at Resmed.
