Not to be alarmist, but i thought i'd share this with you guys in case it helps anyone prevent a scare or something worse -- the other night our 9 month old daughter couldn't get to sleep in her crib so we put her in the bed with us, and i was wearing my CPAP of course. When we woke up, the hose somehow got wrapped around her a few times. it wasn't around her neck, thank goodness. but it scared me as to what could have happened. maybe the next time i won't use my CPAP if she's with us...

Mike, I'm sure you know this and perhaps your nine month old is big enough that it doesn't apply. It is highly recommended not to put babies in bed with adults. That being said, you need your CPAP, is it worth the risk of you having a bad apnea even on that very night? You have to protect her future by protecting your health.

good points, Mary. We hardly ever allow her in bed. Only as a very last resort. Maybe next time we'll just let her cry it out. Probably the safest course of action.

I have issue of me getting tangled in my CPAP hose. I took a wire hanger from a dry cleaners and formed a hook and at night place it on the head board and drape hose over it. No more tangles, and no more unplugging hose and waking up gasping HA

Just reading your post is frightening - I can't even imagine how you must have felt. So VERY glad to know Eliza Marie is well.
As others suggested, a "hose lift" might be a good idea to consider. I have used one from the 1st night that I starteding using CPAP and I consider it essential.

Although 1 costs $17 and the other $22 - they seemed the same to be on the websites. I bought mine from cpapplus and I have found that it works extremely well.
