I had a sleep study at a lab about a year ago.  Because I only had 8 minutes of Rem sleep. the dr decided to put me on a pressure of 10. The technician there was not even licensed and I couldn't believe how they could decide on that pressure with little data.

A few months later, I was as tired as when I first started so I went back to the dr and he said I really need a titration study.  I had one at the same clinic, and they decided that my pressure should be 15.

Several months ago, I still had sleep problems, so I was seeing a dr who ordered a titration study at home.  I was not hooked up to everything in the lab of course, so they said my pressure was 13.

My current dr wants me to have a sleep titration study in a regular lab, so I made an appt at one associated with a hospital.

The thing is, when I set up the titration study at this new lab, the lady said they are going to start out without cpap running.  She said that is the only way they can get a baseline.

So I have to start all over?

I am just a little freaked out because I had 142 events an hour in the lab the first time.

She assured me that the technicians will monitor my oxygen, etc.

I just hate to sleep without cpap and have someone wake me after two hours to hook me up to cpap.

Does this sound ok?

Sounds like they are being thorough to me. I hope it goes well.
