I'm 50, but am fairly sure I've had sleep apnea for 10+ years. Comes with the territory , being quadriplegic. Just never knew, dealing with everything else that comes with that.

I'm 40 years young, was diagnosed with OSA less than 2 years ago (before I had the weight loss surgery - Duodenal Switch which helped me lose over 100lbs.) but I probably had it for over 15 years. I remember having symptoms when I was in my early to mid 20's and a few pounds over-weight. Now even after losing about 130lbs. I still have sleep apnea. Have not really used my CPAP machine much because the mask I got is too big and uncomfortable. Will be getting another sleep study soon so that I can get another mask that fits better and hopefully will be more comfortable.
I didn't know anything about sleep apnea until I was diagnosed and looked for info about it online. I think a lot of people, especially over-weight people, have sleep apnea and don't know it. I'm pretty sure my dad has sleep apnea. When I was little I remember him snoring really loud enough to wake me and he would stop for a little while then I would hear him gasping for breath before he resumed snoring. He's not over weight but has been a heavy smoker for decades (started smoking at 13); he's also Diabetic and he had a mild heart attack about 5 years ago. I want him to get a sleep study but he's so apathetic about his health.

I am 47 and have gone from a cpap > bpap > vpap auto 25 what's next a apnea
sleep suit the funny thing about it is I would use it.................

lance, remember Mast Trousers (? the trousers they put on you after an accident which compressed your legs to get the blood up to the vital organs). Perhaps something similar to push the diaphragm in and out would work. Or with the talk of electrical stimulation, enough stimulation to the diaphragm to force air out and hopefully keep the airway open long enough for a good breath in. Heck perhaps, if you cound stand it, aquarium tubing down your nose into the airway would keep enough air moving in. That might actually be feasible. Somewhat like being intubated. Or I'm being silly... .

I am 65 - as of two days ago! Was diagnosed with sleep apnea last August, but also definely had longer.

My Great Nephew Brandon want in on the ages. He says "I am 5" and he uses BiPAP.
