Pressure number identification for Pressure vs.Leak rate graph

I am trying to determine the vent flow rate (unintentional leak rate)for a mask that I am using inorder to match it as closely as possible to one of the mask selection offerings on the Resmed Vpap auto 25.

When I look at the "Pressure vs. Leak Rate" graph for my mask, the bottom line

depicts pressures cmH20 in a range from zero to 20.

Each number is a singular one....

Given the fact that my machine is set in auto mode with a range of pressures....Epap 7, Ipap 20..

As opposed to having a prescription for a cpap with one pressure designation....

How do I determine an appropriate number for me to use with this graph...for my pressure designation....

If I sound confused...I am...Thank you for any advice you can offer....Claudette

What kind of mask is it? I will do the research for it. for now try matching it up with a same style mask. If it is a full face mask pick one of the full fac mask options on your machine. So on an so on for nasal and nasal pillows.
Thanks,Rock...I appreciate it...I have tried to get this information...I thought I could figure it out but I cant...no one seems to be clear......Its a Respironics Profile Lite....Its a nasal mask....the graph I refer to is on the back page of the instruction sheet....Thanks again.....Claudette

What are the nasal options on your Bpap unit?
Also, the mask selection on the auto 25 was set at Mirage when I received it.....then I asked the RT to set it at Standard because I had read somewhere that in this kind of situation Standard would be a good option....but....my numbers seem to be deteriorating since that change was made and I am concerned... so I am trying to get a more specific calculation so that I can select the mask that is closest to the Profile Lite. thanks again........Claudette

Actually, it was originally set on Ultra...I reset it there for tonight.....there are 6 selections...Mirage, Standard, Ultra, Mirage Full, Swift, Activa......Thank you very much.......

Mirage and activa are nasal settings. Swift is a nasal pillow setting. If you did not like mirage i would try activa next. Your leak rates should be close to one of these 2. i believe the swift will be a little lower than a standard nasal mask.

Rock, Thank you so very much....It was very kind of you to get that information for me....I do appreciate it....I dont like how my numbers look and altho I slept thru the night...I can remember tossing and turning alot....
Coming to SleepGuide has certainly been very informative for me...Judy gave me some great mask advice a little while back...but I didnt know how to find the discussion again and had to give up....Jnk's detailed advice on many topics has been incredible and immeasureably helpful and so very supportive!
And the suggestions from others were so welcome and also helpful....Its a bit anxiety producing to confront the reality of the issues related to this disorder and the support that I have encountered here has been wonderful.
Your offer to do that research was heartwarming...Its not easy to be struggling thru these issues when there is no clear roadmap.....
especially when some lingering brainfog remains (or at least thats what I call it)
I will do as you suggest re the mask selection issue....
I hope that your new road to fitness is successful for you....I dont know if compulsive overeating is an issue for you or not. There is a book called "Compulsive Overeater" by Bill B which is an interpretation of the twelve step program. In it, `Bill B tells his story and shares the way he lives the twelve steps. You might find the book an interesting read either way.
Good Luck and thank you again! Claudette

No problem Claudette. If you can't tell I live for this stuff. I never thought I would be able to find a way to give back everything that i had taken from life. Finding sleep was a godsend. Not only can I give back, but I can support my family at the same time.

Sleep is a game of averages, indexes, and patterns. try keeping a diary of the things that wake you up or interrupt your sleep. look for patterns that you can specifically address like noises, pets, comfort settings, or your bed partner. Write down these things every morning when you wake up and do your own analysis. Do not get discouraged if you do not remember something. The nature of sleep is to make you forget. Once you begin to isolate and eliminate outside interruptions you will begin to sleep better. Post your discoveries and I will help.
I do love a good book! I do not know if my weight problem is as much cumpulsive as it is just enjoying good food. Working in the restaurant and bar industry for so long I developed a very good pallet. I am a little leary of 12 step programs though. Not that they have not worked for millions of people just not for me. I fought a few addictions in my late 20's and early 30's. it seemed that every program I got involved with wanted me to trade one addiction for another, be it pharmeceutical or religious. It is not that i am not a religiuos or spiritual person. I just do not believe that this was how the god of my understanding would have wanted me to come to him or her. By the way I really hope that god is a woman. It would explain so much! That was bad pray for me. Im a bad man! LMAO
And as you know, and I truly believe, one has to follow what it is that is in his or her heart to achieve either success or happiness...or perhaps achieving happiness, on any level, is success....I agree that I wouldnt follow any program either that was counterintuitive for me, especially when I have had past experiences such as you have had, that tend to lead me in another direction....I dont believe that it matters which God we follow or what form that God takes, as long as we are true to the precepts that we believe encompass being spiritual, as well as those involving love and kindness toward others.
And I believe that God has a sense of humor so He would understand why you would hope that God is a woman.....At any rate, it probably wouldnt hurt to ask for support from that deity on your new and exciting venture into a new life of fitness....
Keep up the good work.........Claudette
