Technical Help with Encore Pro 1.8.49 and MS SQL

My program was bummed up so I removed the program and deleted the directory MSSQL$ENCOREPRO . I then attempted to reinstall Encore Pro and got the error message, "Connection failed - A valid login with administrative privileges is required for this database server." The message is asking me to select one of these three options - 1. Use Encore Pro logins or 2. Use Windows Authentication or 3. Use SQL Server Authentication.

It is asking for login name and a password for the database server. Of course I have no idea about names and passwords. The install program shows the database server name as STUDY\ENCOREPRO and there is no way to change it.

I have reinstalled Encore Pro before and did not encounter this problem and did not have to provide a login for the data base server.

I am running Windows XP and making a reinstallation on a single standalone PC.

Any easy solutions for reinstallation?

If I remember right you have to make sure that the database is deleted as well. It installs the database along with EncorePro but I think you have uninstall both to make the reinstall work.

I had trouble at one point and it seems that was what I was told to do on another forum.

Good luck.
Things have been very busy for me in January. Just now got a few minutes to look at this problem again. There are two possibilities:

1. I can't delete this file, sqlmangr.RLL, and the error message says, "User access denied".
2. The other thing that might work is if I knew how to retrieve my windows login UserID and Password.
on first boot do not any buttons except alt ctl and del this will drop you into a
administrator mode

try from administrator to delete the offending file

try rename it then delete the new name rename it like bin.doc

ring your isp and ask them for you windows login user id and password
