Hi everyone,

We are looking for a VPAP ST machine for someone that can't afford to buy one. And he really needs it since he can't sleep at all without it. He is currently using one that is being rented but it is getting really hard to collect the money to rent it which is donated by friends of this person.

We are trying to collect some money among few people to buy a used one for him. If anybody in this forum has one that would like to donate or sell at a very low affordable price, please email me ASAP at
magdalenafernandez@yahoo.com

Thank you so much... have Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. God Bless you all.

there should be laws to prevent this predicament in the first place as it is a life support machine as attested to by the transport authority a government department
You might try listing on craigslist as well. These machines are very expensive, as you are already aware of, so I don't know how much luck you will have in finding one at no cost or at a very low cost.

Does he have insurance that is involved?

Does he qualify for the state run Medicaid program or Medicare?

Try listing local -- or maybe your local newspaper could run an article about his needs especially since it is the holidays.

Good luck.
Try a search on A.W.A.K.E. It is an organization that helps needy people obtain necessary sleep studies and equipment, etc.

Try contacting your local VNA, local DME suppliers (some do do pro bono devices, most likely used, but ...)

Try contacting the various sleep labs in the area for help.

Try contacting the local hospitals for assistance.

Keep an eye out at cpapauction.com

Contact your state and national congressmen and representatives.

Good luck and God bless!!!
Thank you so much for all the information and suggestions that all of you have provided. We will try everything we can.
I wrote an article about this subject:

All are good, but #3 specifically because of the machine type that is needed.
