Has anyone had this?  I am interested (since I am such a chicken when it comes to surgery)  Trying to find MD in Western part of North Carolina and so far no luck!

Asking about the saline flushes.  I just look in the mirror and spray the Ocean Brand saline several times.  It does not unblock anything.  My right side is just closed off and I feel like I am going nuts.  Should I be doing the irrigation another way?  I sure hope there is some relief at my 9 Am appointment tomorrow.  No pain so not taking pain RX but will take at bedtime again just to get through th enight.

Ginny I had both and it took less than 10 SECONDS in each nostril to remove it all.....Now my surgeon had my wife literally HOLD me down in case I "went back to War" but never an issue. It was an INSTANT & painless experience. It was slightly uncomfortable but mostly WEIRD....Hard to describe? Bottom line is, it is over just about the same second you realize it is about to happen. I am the most paranoid person you can find and I promise you, NO problem when you get it done. I wouldn't lie to you just to ease your mine either.  You can watch YouTube video's if you want. Looks gross but it is just like a little tiny very thin plastic sleeve that simply slides out. you will be a happy camper on Friday, I promise!

Hope so.  Saline does not seem to unplug it at all.  I am sure I am going to "love" having the stents removed Friday.  Such anticipation....I imagine pain!

Keep trying the saline helps keep infections down. If you let it sit on the counter it's not helping and I would imagine not everyone is the same. Just don't swallow it like a polish buddy of mine did. I asked him why he had an upset stomach. Yick! Everything takes time.

Not swallowing~nothing really comes out after I squirt it in except a small dribble out of my nose.

You were so right, Mike~it was no big deal having the stents out.  I took 1/2 percocet for nothing. Glad there was no packing.  I am sleeping on 3 pillows at an angle and slept great last night even before the stents were removed today.  To have over night pulse oximetery in about 3 weeks without cpap to se how I do.  I love my ENT!!!!

The plan for me was no stents/packing but turned out had to be done.  Eben so, it was SO worth it. You only have 5-7 days of being "uncomfortable". Even with all the packing? I STILL could breath better through my nose than before surgery! Very weird deal....If you have a medical licensing board in your state like here, do a check on your doctor for malpractice history etc. Google him into the ground! Turns out one of my many surgeons had a lost malpractice case against him for $950K in the death of a prior patient. Scary sometimes what you find out?

Great to hear Ginny - I bet it was packing I had, and that was gross getting it removed :(  I'll go with your ENT surgeon if I need anymore surgery LOL.

Hope you find your healing process quick and are soon breathing easier.  Can't wait to hear how you get on in 3 weeks so keep us posted.

Yes, my doctor seems good.  See him in two weeks time.  Right now everything is still open and breathing well but he told me it will get stuffed up again.  It can't feel as bad as when stents were in.  I need to start to resume the saline rinses.  All that worry about the removal process for naught!  I should have listened to what others said.

After Septoplasty and turbinate coblation, Just wanted to say I am feeling very well now after my surgery 3/12.   Now hardly any stuffiness.  And today was the first day I was allowed to blow my nose (AND I did not need to)!!  LOL   Looking forward to getting back to CPAP.  Use nasal pillows so I think it will be a while more.  Had the surgery on a Monday, Stents out on Friday (had no packing).  ANd it did not hurt to have stents out at all. So none of the adventure was as bad as I thought it would be.  I never thought I would say I am looking forward to restarting CPAP!

Great news all round Ginny.  Things will just get better and better now.......

I woke up choking last night in my mask first time for that, was scarey.

What do you think was going on, Brett?  I'm sure it was scary.

I think it was something to do with my teeth and the amount of humidity in the air of the tube.   I am getting rainout and I hate to say but a capacity to end up with too much saliva in my mouth more then likely from the rainout.  And it choked me, clogged my lungs and it was hard to fight the mask off and get a breath against the machine and cough it up and out.  I wanted to add this to this thread since we all know each other if you guys could vote for this cause.  Its free and it goes to a youngster without any musical gear.  We are close to our goal but we need more votes.  THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!  http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fmakemusic.maker.good.i...
