Hello Members. From the still very tired after sleeping with my cpap for about two months.
What would cause condensation coming into my mask and through the hose? I had to take it off last night about 2am because of it. I still had water in the reservoir. I do use the nasal pillows type mask, but I have a sore on my nose that would not heal because of it. I do have a mask that goes over the nose and that is what I'm using until the sore heals. What is with this condensation if any one knows?

Thanks.

Mitch as Judy suggested get copies of your sleep study reports, and also try and find out what yoour machine is saying about your AI and AHI's Do you know if you had any Central Apneas when you had your sleep study? If so that could be a problem if you had a lot of them! It still might be a bit early I know the treatment cleared up some things really quickly for me, the night sweats and nocturia disappeared in just a couple of weeks, but the day time tiredness and extreme fatigue, well that took some time, my Sleep Doc said to give it 90 days and he was just about right it took just about 3 month before the tiredness and fatigue started loosing its grip on me, and it took awhile longer to finally be gone, and even now I have my days, but even people without sleep apnea have those. Also how many hours of sleep are you getting each night? Even if your using your machine every night all night long, but if your only sleeping 4,5 or 6 hours a night, well your still going to be tired! So you might want to be checking yourself on that too!

As for you condensation problem, Judy mentioned this already but moving your machine to a lower level could help the problem allot! I have my machine on a shelf just 10 or so inches off the floor, that way any condensation in the hose just runs right back down into the humidifier, instead of into the mask and my face. I keep my bed pretty cool 60 degress or colder and I keep the humidifier on the machine set on the highest setting and I have never had a problem with condensation in my mask or face. I do sleep in a fowlers position and with my machine positioned so low, I just don't have a problem with it. Maybe it could also help you! Good Luck to You!
I hope some of these suggestions have helped with the condensation. I know how annoying that is! I tell you, I've slept plenty of times without using my humidifier at all. (I live in FL, and it's pretty humid here anyway.) If that's uncomfortable though, stick with the humidifier, but try the lowest temperature and see how that goes.

As for the not feeling rested, there are other things that can be keeping you from sleeping well too. My mother in law has sleep apnea, but she also has to take meds for some other sleep related things. I don't know what it's called, but she has to take some type of med or she doesn't get into the Alpha wave sleep (or something like that. it was something about Alpha) and then either she or my father in law has restless leg also.

Keep trying. I know I was totally falling asleep at work before I was dx, and it was so much better after I got my cpap. I've had it nearly 4 years now, and just recently started snoring WITH my mask on! And just today dozed off unknowingly at work. I tweeted something about that today and that's how mike found my via twitter and invited me here. I've got an appt to go see the new respiratory therapist my insurance changed me over to. Hopefully they can figure out if I need a new machine, new pressure or a new mask, cause I do not want to go back to being tired all the time! I'd forgotten how horrible this is!

Good luck!
