My durable medical equipment provider says that i can use any mild detergent to clean CPAP supplies, but I know this stuff is very fragile. What does everyone here use?

I clean my mask, resevoir and tube with a liquid soap. I recommend staying away from strong scented soaps and never ever use alcohol on anything! There's debate on using vinegar as a cleaning solution, but sheesh, who wants to have vinegar odor rushing at them!
Many use baby shampoo (what I use), the following dish soaps: Dawn and Ivory (do not use the antibacterial kind), Dr. Bonner's, and various other soaps.

For many of us, myself among them, do not clean our equipment very often. My hose has never been washed (I have used the same hose since August 2007), my mask every so often when I think about it (goes weeks between washing). Mask and seals can last for a long time. I have used the same mask for approximately a year. I purchased it off from a member of another forum that didn't like it.

As long as the equipment isn't abused -- it is pretty durable. The most fragile areas are the elbows and strap/mask connectors probably.

Do change filters regularly though. I have found it helps my allergies.
