Luck!

Charlene, how did it go, did you find a mask that suits you better?  Did you get good help from the person who came by?

This afternoon the person from where I get my supplies came out to my home...
I was realy surprised she came this soon as my hubby just talked to them
this morning..Anyway she brought me a diffferant mask..It has easy clips for
puting on and takng off...Also the mask is lower at the chin..So Hopefully no
more hurting chin...Will know more in the morning...The new mask is:
Quattro...Full Face Mask...She also told me to set the number on machine to 3
instead of 2 and it might help the dry mouth...

I used that mask for a long time with success.  Keep us posted.  Remember sometimes it takes awhile working with a mask to get the fit adjusted correctly.  One thing to avoid is over tightening the straps to prevent leaks.
I use this mask....make sure that they fit you properly.  I have spent almost 5 years with a small which did not fit properly and had lots of leaks.  Finally I saw someone at my doctor's office who fitted me with an XS and also told me to order new cushions monthly (insurance will cover it) to reduce the leakage.... 5 years to get something right.

Does anyone besides me think it is very strange that a medical equipment supplier would come to the home to deliver a mask????  (Physically disabled and homebound excepted.)

Not to mention very expensive and part of the reason for high medical care costs?

And do they bring out a big selection of masks to try? Well nooooooo, they just bring one damn mask!

Good luck my dear, after 8 years I am still to find a mask that do not give me some sort of frustration, with this nasal pillow I am using presently, I get up every morning with impressions on both side of my face, if I should open it up a bit I get leakage. Any suggestions from anyone.

Do you even belong on this forum?  Of course they would come to your home to fit your mask, check your machine for problems, reset the machine.....would it be better for the patient to be treated poorly due to little or no follow up?   Sleep Apnea kills.....

I have mixed feelings about home visits.  On the one hand, it makes great sense to have the patient try on masks with the machine on in their own bed with their own pillow and their own sleeping position.  For a new setup, it's great if a knowledgeable tech or RT can teach the newbie how best to set up the equipment and care for it, and the home environment should be less stressful than a storefront.

On the other hand, there may be a limited number of masks to try in the home setting, as it's unlikely that the DME is going to bring a broad range of types and sizes.  That can leave the person stuck with an ill-fitting or leaky mask.  A newbie may not even realize there are other choices in masks, because he or she has seen only the limited few brought out by the DME.

As far as driving up costs, remember that the DME gets the same amount whether they do the home visit or not.  At least this DME is giving some modicum of service, most do NOT, yet they get paid exactly the same amount.  Crapria favors drop shipping the equipment and supplies--no customer service whatsoever, not even in-store--and they make the same amount as this DME.

I like when outfits like Crapria try to say that people should choose them over an online supplier who doesn't provide any hands on assistance.  HA--that's the pot calling the kettle black!

Whenever a new piece of equipment was perscribed, someone always came to make sure that it was fitted/adjusted correctly. I would assume that this was standard procedure for any reputable health care company.
I have a Quattro full face mask & I searched on the Internet for something to allow me to not have leakages.  I now use the RemZzzs .. which I made a call to Medicare & United Health Care and they pay for them.  You are allowed only 30 a month, and you use one a night but what a difference.  Whoever you get your supplies from, they should be carrying them by now.  If not, contact RemZzzzs by email and they will get you set up.
