Hello All

I have the following BiPAP: ResMed VPAP S with a H4i Heated Humidifier. I've been using this DME for roughly 21 months an average of 6.5 hrs per night 18 in and 14 out.

I fill the humidifier tank to the full line every night but in the morning the tank is either bone dry, still totally full or somewhere in between.

It may be my imagination but I fell like I got a better night's sleep when the tank is dry, and not such a good night's sleep if the tank is still full.

I am fairly successful at wearing my Quattro Full mask all night removing it only for 2 or 3 whiz trips.

Does anyone have any insight to the fluctuations in utilization?

Thanks, Tom

when the tank is totally full when you wake up, you say that you don't get as good of a night's sleep as when the tank is bone dry when you wake up -- that's natural and to be expected.  seems you like and need a lot of humidification to be happy. i think the question is what is preventing you from getting good humidification on the nights that the tank remains full.  it could be that you're messing with the humidification settings and not setting them high enough on those nights.

when it is dry in the morning I feel as though I had a good nights sleep. And when the tank is still full in the morning I feel like I did not get such a good nights sleep. By an large I don't fool with the humidity settings as I have them as high as possible without gettting rain in the mask.

When I was having the same problem with my

S8 ResMed the DME thought it was not getting enough air circulation preventing the heating pad from coming on (it held heat and so turned itself off).  Make sure you have good air exchange around your unit.  My problem resolved when I did this.

Hi Tom, To reduce rain in mask I found that putting the machine lower than me helped as well as putting a sleve over the hose (insulation) also suspending the host with a few rubber bands and  bracket attached to the headboard.Hose stays warm and if their is rain it runs back in to the tank. Good sleep ,Chris

PS you can ask someone who knows how to use a sowing machine to make a sleve .use rubber bands to keep it in place
