I just bought a Resmed S8 Escape II, with the data card and USB reader.
Can someone recommend a good source of information to help me understand what the graphs are telling me, and how my data are in comparison to where they should be ?
Also any recommendation for an inexpensive specialist in Los Angeles area who I could consult with/show my data if I need to?

Welcome to SleepGuide, Jean Marie. There is a new premium service that just opened up through SleepGuide (where do you find it Mike, or Rock?) where you get 30 minutes on the phone with a sleep professional. I feel like you could arrange to email, or fax a sample or two of your data and for $50.00 have someone go over it one on one with you on the telephone. We can all vouch for our sleep expert that provides this service.
You can also post your files on cpaptalk.com, but you get what you get. You never know the expertise of the person reading your data and there are usually conflicting thoughts about what the data reveals.
I doubt you could find a sleep specialist outside of the service offered here that would be affordable and do what you want.
The RPSGT is uniquely suited to read your data as that is a large part of his/her job (in my limited understanding of the many duties).
Also, the doctor who gave you your prescription, or the DME or tech who downloads your machine data for it to be reviewed might possibly help you out.

BUT TO CLARIFY: to the best of my knowledge the Resmed S8 Escape II is NOT fully data capable and is ONLY capable of providing compliance (usage) data which is of absolutely no value to you, your therapy, your sleep doctor, or anyone but the DME provider to get their money from the insurance company. Just because an xPAP has a data card does NOT mean it is capable of providing ANY therapy data at all except usage.
Double check the top of your CPAP. The Resmed S8 Elite II "is" fully data capable. But no prior Escape model has ever been fully data capable so I don't expect the S8 Escape II is either.

IT has a card reader, a smart card, and when I plug them into my computer, I get great graphs and charts wth all the standard measurements by day, week, month, etc..
So it looks like the charting/graphig capabilities are working fine.

Are you sure it is not the Resmed S8 Elite II? Look on the top of your CPAP in the navy blue area near the handle. Does it say Elite or Escape?

Why's that, Rock Hinkle?? Inquiring minds want to know - IS the S8 Escape II fully data capable when no prior Escape has been fully data capable?? What do I have to do - go searching for a pdf of the Clinician's Manual to find out if the S8 Escape II is fully data capable?
How many people confused the Escape and Elite model names when they mention their CPAP in these apnea support forums? How many confuse the Respironics Plus CPAPs which aren't fully data capable w/the Respironics Pro CPAPs which ARE fully data capable??
I don't want to get caught w/eggs on my face telling some poor innocent newbie that the Resmed S8 Escape II is fully data capable if it isn't!!!!
