I know that some on here really like the Resmed machines.

I recently purchased a gently used Resmed S8 Vantage from www.cpapauction.com. I have used an M series apap with c-flex since August of 2007. I have switched to the Vantage and have used it for the past week or little longer.

There are several features I really like about the Vantage vs. the M series. It seems to me that the Vantage is a tad quieter. I like the design of the humidifier of the Vantage over the M series. You can see at a glance the amount of water left in the tank and the ease of filling.

What are the differences between the Vantage and the Autoset II? I am thinking that I may want to try to get an Autoset II, but if there isn't much difference may not want to spend the $$$$.

Hi Jeff,

I'm hoping you can give an explanation of both EPR and Easy-Breathe.

I have an AutoSet II, and I like it, but I don't know what either of these features are, nor if they are enabled.

Thanks!
My own experience is that Easy-Breathe is a huge difference-maker with my BiPap. The machine has it in auto mode not in spont mode. I can tolerate 20 0ver 15 easily in auto mode, can't sleep for more than a few minutes in spont mode...
I love my S8 Autoset 11 because of the EPR and Easy-Breathe. It is very "calming" for lack of a better word, easy to breathe. It is very quiet as well. bee

Clueless, I don't know why the EasyBreathe technology wouldn't work in Spontaneous mode as well. But I do know that most of these RRTs do NOT know how to set the "comfort options" in Spontaneous mode. The Ti Maximum and Ti Minimum, the Rise Time, the Cycling and Trigger Sensitivity, Exhalation, etc. I hope to learn more about this the end of the month when I get a chance to talk to the Resmed Rep.
I believe the autoset II is the best CPAP on the market. The ResTraxx provides easy info for the docs and DMEs while not taking away from the enduser software.
