i discovered i had sleep alnea after my second accident in one year where i fell asleep at the wheel...anybody have any advice anout this ...should i advise the insurance company that i have been diagnosed and have taken appropriate action or not?
Unless your carrier requires you to disclose the information I suggest you not volunteer the information.
I am not advocating lying, or perpetuating a fraud, but just don't tell unless asked.
If you are going to reveal the information to possibly prevent the rate increase you have experienced or are about to experience, it will be a futile effort and will result in your policy cancellation or extremely inflated coverage rate.
You do need to make sure you have initiated a course of treatment and have the situation under control. From this point forward you will be committing a criminal act if you drive and it isn't under control and you are not following a positive medical treatment.
If you aren’t, the insurance company does, at that point in time, has the right to deny and withhold payment on any claims to which they can contribute to your negligence for failure to follow the prescribed treatment.
