I having been using my CPAP for five nights now and I seem to be more "mellow". I have always been known for my bubbling outgoing personality and since using my CPAP I have been more of an introvert. It's not that I'm tired or that I feel bad. It's hard to describe it! Could this be from the REM Rebound? If so, how long will it last?

Could it be that part of your "bubbling outgoing" personality is a result of you being so exhausted that your brain has to kick up your personality into high gear just to keep you alert/functioning properly? In other words, the idea is that you were over compensating for a weakness -- in this case exhaustion. I don't mean any offense by this, and it's just a hare-brained theory. But thought i'd put it out there for your consideration.
Mary,
You are going through a series of adjustments. The bubbly personality could be the way you handled your bodies stress. Our personalities adjust to create a mask or persona that will hide true moods and or feelings. It maybe that you are actually a mellow person. Then again I could be completely off the mark.
You simply could be just going through a series of tweaks and adjustments and will be yourself very soon. I do not believe it’s a result of REM rebound.

Mike,
I should have read your reply before placing my own. Sorry about just repeating.

Mary,
If it is the result of the CPAP, I hope it lasts for the rest of your very long life.
