Hello again everyone:

I am happy to report that I finally found a mask that worked for me ever since July 1st....I have slept my nights with my cpap machine....then all of a sudden the last three nights I wake up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep with my machine.....so I am averaging 1-2 hrs per night, I feel like I am going backwards.....

I have a couple of questions--the doc is changing my meds could this be the problem??? Or with this new found energy of using my machine these past two weeks I started biking....I notice at night my ribs are pretty sore with the air from the machine....if anyone can help me with this I would be grateful....

Please tell me this will get better??? It took me so long to find the right mask and get on my machine....sooooooooooo tired once again.....

I know for myself -- changing meds can mess up my sleep. Some meds have side effects that include tiredness, sleepiness, fatigue, etc. Other meds, even though they treat identical problems, do not. Depending up on what type of med you are taking, it maybe that your body needs time to acclimate to the new drug. Inquire with your pharmacy or doctor if the meds could be causing it.

I know at other times, I just have "those" nights, even several in a row, that are just crummy sleep. I hate those nights!!

When are you biking? If it is in the evening, it could be that you may want to try earlier in the day to see if that helps.

It will get better -- like most things there are learning curves and times when nothing seems to help -- and then bingo you find that things fall into place and working great.
Hey Sleepycarol:

Thanks for your feedback--I don't know if this has anything to do with my trouble sleeping but, I notice that when I use my cpap machine my ribs get very sore..... in the mornings my ribs and stomach are very very sore.....I can barely move.....I also feel like I am choking again just like when I don't use my machine......last night I kept my mask on all night for fear of choking--woke up many times choking--what does this mean????

I am going to see my supplier and sleep doc next week--can you guide me as to what I should be asking them.....should I get my data read again????? I am a little fearful that my doc will switch me back to straight cpap again.....the pain in my stomach and ribs has been going on since I got up this morning at 9:00 am it has never been this bad since I started my cpap.....any ideas what is causing this pain????

I look forward to your feedback my dear--can barley move this morning....I really am starting to wonder if my levels need to be readjusted again---
Hi Belinda, I don't really have any advice, but I noticed that since starting my therapy, my "core" muscles feel stronger, but they don't hurt. My therapist said that would likely happen because when she watched me breathe in her office, I was breathing mostly from my chest. She said the machine will make me breathe from my diaphragm and my stomach muscles will get worked a little more.

Doesn't make my pants and looser, though...

You don't have a fever or anything, so you? I hope you don't have pneumonia, or something.
