Went to the sleep tech yesterday and he switched me from the nasal pillows to the "Respironics Profile Lite" nasal gel mask. The only problem I had was the outflow air blowing on my face - but dh solved that with a baby sock and a clip. Now the air still blows out but it is diffused - and the fit is amazing - escpecially while side sleeping.

I actually tested it this morning and fell fast asleep - and that does not happen for me - so I must have been very relaxed LOL

Good for you in finding a mask that seems to work for you.

It takes time to find the mask that works the best for most people and I am sooooo glad that you liked the Profile Lite mask. I hope you continue to have many more good nights.
Explain to me where you put the baby sock?? Over the vent thing? I hate the air that shoots out of my mask, it is the only annoying thing I have about my CPAP therapy. It blows on my arm, my face, everywhere, and I spend a lot of time trying to get my covers just right so the air doesn't bounce back in my face.

thanks.
Over the "spout" - the part that looks like an elepahtns trunk lol
Very bad idea. If you inhibit the intentional outflow from the mask, you are risking rebreathing your CO2. The vent should not be blocked in any way. I'm very pleased with the new design of the venting on the Activa LT. It fans out so that it doesn't blow anywhere very strongly, it's quiet, and it will not blow on a bed partner at all.

Oh heck Daniel, and I thought I had found a way to stop that pesky outflow.....oh well. :>( I guess it's made that way for a reason.
Its not blocking the airflow - just directing it away from my face.
