I have been using cpap with a nasal mask for not quite 2 weeks. I have developed a red "pimple" on the bridge of my nose where the mask sits. It's not a pimple though, but it is a red lump that looks like a HUGE pimple :( I also have developed two along the bottom of my nostrils. I'm not cool with this :(
The mask isn't to tight, which I thought might have been causing it. Any suggestions as what I can do to alleviate this problem????

Thanks,
Lori

Hello Lori,
I can offer you some help with this issue.
I use a CPAP machine and have been designing and manufacturing padding solutions for over 5 years now. If you want to check out my website www.padacheek.com, there are many solutions there. I need to know the name of your mask in order to recommend the correct PAD A CHEEK Nose Bridge Protector.
I wish you well, and it would be my pleasure to help you sleep better.

Make sure your skin is free from any lotions or moisturizers prior to masking up. Washing your face prior to masking up, helps as well.

What are you using to wash your mask in?
Hello Lori,
The PAD A CHEEK Nose Bridge A/B will fit your mask. If you order it and it does not work the way you need it to, please let me know. I will work with you to find the solution to your individual issue.

Hi Lori, many times the issue with skin irritation is caused by multiple factors. Facial oils and perspiration can act as irritants in certain circumstances. In addition, some people have an allergic reaction to the silicone (or latex) in the mask skirt. You may want to try putting a barrier between the entire surface of the mask skirt and your skin. Our product, RemZzzs CPAP mask liners, act as a barrier along the entire circumference of the mask skirt. This helps to absorb facial oils and perspiration, as well as protect the skin from contacting the silicone. The mask liners also help to reduce annoying leaks. As well, you can feel free to use your regular nightime facial moisturizers with RemZzzzs. We've had an amazing response from people in your situation all over the world. Check them out at: www.remzzzs.com

NOTE: It looks like you use the Fisher & Paykel FlexiFit 407--when ordering, you will want to choose the Respironics ComfortClassic. We have found that many brands are similar in shape and size and will fit multiple masks.

Whatever solution you go with, I hope that you find relief and start getting better sleep!

I've been using the REMZzzs for about a month now, and have been very happy with it. It does provide a better seal for me, but protecting my skin from the mask was the reason I started using them. I have a Mirage Micro and have been using the Activa size. It does require some "fiddling" to get it to fit, but once I put it on it's great. Is there a comprehensive list somewhere of masks and the equivilent size in REMZzzs? I've noticed on other boards that some members are reluctant to try them because you don't list their mask.
Thanks for the reply Ruby. I'm so glad that you are having success with RemZzzs! You've actually raised a good question--we are currently working on releasing a list of mask styles which overlap as many of them are compatible with each other. I will update this thread when that becomes available. Additionally, you might want to become a "fan" of our Facebook page as this is a good place to go for updates. Also we are on Twitter and of course you can always send an email to help@remzzzs.com for any questions. I wish you continued success with RemZzzs and your CPAP therapy!

I have a mask with a very soft, flexible silicon triangle that fits against the skin. No problems. My older masks sometimes pressed hard on the bridge of my nose.

(I use a RESMED Mirage Micro mask.)
Is there somewhere on the mask that it will say the size...I want to order some of the remzzz's but i dont know if it's a s, m or l

Hi Lori, I'm sorry I didn't see your reply back in June for some reason! To answer your question, if you look on the bottom of the mask cushion (by the nose or mouth area), and there should be a S-M- or L. If you have any other questions let me know. Sorry again for the late response!

Blessings,
Nathan
