Apparently, even mild sleep apnea increases heart risk. Research shows that minimally symptomatic obstructive sleep apnea can increase arterial stiffness. [Heart Advis 2009;12(1):4]

I think I heard once too that it enlarges your heart.
I read a study not to long ago by a female doctor saying that even an AHI of 1 could be deadly if untreated over an extended period. I will try to dig it up.
I've heard of that doctor too. If you can't dig it up, I know that dr. Mack jones who's also on sleepguide will know. He's written about her work.

He is the Dr. that had the trach. right? I believe that is where I first got her name come to think about it. I can't seem to find the study. I don't know why I did not download it to my sleep folder. I must have been tired.
Correct, Rock. He's the neurologist who had the tracheotomy. I'll check in with him and respond back with what he says.

Heard back from Dr. Mack Jones. The doctor's name is Dr. Barbara Phillips. I started a new thread on this under the topic can even an AHI of 1 Be Deadly ?
