The LPN who delivered my M Series told me that 1 is the lowest humidification setting. The manual recommends a setting of 2. Try a higher number? That should add moisture, which sounds like what she needs.

Sounds like she's off to a good start. Increasing the heat level is definitely the right thing to do. It's interesting that she had the impression of breathing hot air -- most people experience CPAP as really cold air. Don't worry about increasing the heat - it does not make the air warmer. It merely adds more moisture.
